Vault Cashier Graves

Full-Time

Responsibilities:

Serves as a frontline customer service cashier and supplies cash to cashiers and perimeter departments for running of the day to day operations of the casino.

  • Provides excellent customer service to improve the experience of our guests.
  • Controls and safeguards all cash/cash equivalents during assigned shift.  (Cash, Coin, Checks, Chips, Tokens, Jackpot/Fill/Coupon/Promo/Redemption slips, Gift Certificates, Prize Tickets.)
  • Processes Chip, Coin, Token redemption for customers and Currency for Currency exchanges.
  • Processes Credit Card Cash Advance and Check Guarantee transactions for customers.
  • Pays out Taxable’s and ensures all paperwork is completed.
  • Records all transactions on Computer Accountability Program, and verifies balance to actual inventory balance.
  • Must maintain a record with minimal variances.  All variances subject to investigation by Department Manager, Accounting Officers, and or Gaming Department Internal Audit.
  • Prepares, Issues, Verifies and Returns Casino Banks for all Casino Departments.
  • Accepts and processes all Cash or Check deposits from Casino and Related Tribal Operations.
  • Prepares Daily Bank Deposits and periodic Change Orders.
  • Controls access to the Vault at all times during assigned shift and to Hard and Soft Count Rooms after the count team has left for the day.
  • Controls (Issue/return/maintain log) for all Casino Sensitive Keys.
  • Controls and safeguards certain "controlled" items.  (Promotional tickets, gift certificates, Coupons, Printer paper for cash equivalents.)
  • Processes Fills/Exchanges/Transfer for the Pit, Bingo Paymaster, Slot, Cage, Food Departments and Related Tribal Operations.
  • Prepares appropriate IRS forms as required for taxable payouts. (W-2G, 1042 S, 1099s, W-9).
  • Records all transactions on Computer Accountability Program, and verifies balance to actual inventory balance.
  • Must maintain a record with minimal variances.  All variances subject to investigation by Department Manager, Accounting Officers, and or Gaming Department Internal Audit.
  • Complies with all Policies/Regulations/Control Standards. (IRS Title 31 and Suspicious Activity reporting, NIGC Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) and Department Policy and Procedures.
  • Performs the function of subordinate staff as required. (Cage Cashier, Bingo Paymaster)
  • Trouble shooting problems as they arise with staffing, equipment and/or customer service.
  • Complies with all Policies/Regulations/Control Standards. (IRS Title 31 and Suspicious Activity reporting, NIGC Minimum Internal Control Standards, Department Policy and Procedures).

Requirements:

  • No less than 6 month prior, large quantity, cash handling experience.
  • Current California Driver’s license.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must qualify for Tribal Gaming License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Computer experience and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Prior cashier or money handling experience.
  • Prior Vault experience.

Qualifications: 

  • Should have good customer relation skills.
  • Must qualify for Tribal Gaming License.
  • Ability to follow directions, written or oral.
  • Indian Preference.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screen test.
  • Must be age 18 and older.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Working environment consists of various levels of smoke, noise, light, heat, and cold.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, reach, and bend.  Must be able to stand, walk for periods of eight or more hours.
  • Must be able to operate in physically and mentally stressful conditions.
