Security Officer

Full-Time

Responsibilities:

The Security Officer is an integral part of the overall mission of safety and security for the Casino operations and the area surrounding the facility. To complete all incident reports and claim forms, gather additional information and forward to appropriate departments and managers. To provide assistance as needed to all customers, vendors, visitors, and employees. Officer is expected to perform his/her duty in a friendly and professional manner. The position demands alertness and flexibility.

• Security Officers are expected to be continually vigilant, guarding patrons, staff and property against fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry by performing the following duties:
• All Security Personnel are to greet customers, maintaining the best public relations atmosphere possible. He/she must make the players feel welcome, comfortable and safe while at the Casino.
• Directs traffic if assigned outside and remains watchful for illicit or unsafe activity.
• Escort Customers and employees to vehicles when requested
• Provide Valet parking when requested by customers.
• Warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, carrying forbidden items such as alcohol, and apprehends or expels persons engaging in disruptive or criminal activity.
• Ensure the safety of all “Lost and Found” items, until they can be returned to the Customer, log and secure.
• Assist in camera usage in the Casino to insure security.
• Check ID’s of all person’s that’s age is in question.
• Regularly patrols the Casino, unless assigned to work outside.
• Perform regular patrols of the outside of the Building and Parking Lot. Checking doors, windows and other vulnerable areas to ensure that they are secure.
• Directs traffic if assigned outside and remains watchful for illicit or unsafe activity.
• Inspects equipment, machinery and structural areas for tampering or unsafe conditions
• Maintains vigilance and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, broken or unsecured locking mechanisms.
• Observe all person exiting the Casino to guard against theft of Casino Property.
• Sound alarm or calls police, fire or ambulance in the event of a crime, fire or medical emergency.
• Responds to medical emergencies and renders first aid or CPR as necessary.
• Admits only authorized personnel, with proper identification, to enter property.
• Escort deliveries to secured areas.
• Escort Brinks to and from the Vault.
• Escort Maintenance into secured areas, when repairs are needed.
• Issue Visitor Badges and Document all persons who have business in the Casino such as Ordering, delivering or repairing.
• Issue and Document all ordering books for the Deli Servers, Runners, and Attendants.
• Issue and Log all “Open/Closer” forms, for the table games.

Qualifications

• Current California driver’s license.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least two years of security experience.
• A current CPR and First Aid Certificate.
• Indian preference.
• Proof of Pre-employment Physical.
• Must qualify for Tribal Gaming License.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Working environment consists of various levels of smoke, noise, light, heat, and cold.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, reach, and bend. Must be able to stand, walk for periods of six or more hours.
• Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
• Must be able to operate in physically and mentally stressful conditions.
• Must have the manual dexterity to use a computer keyboard, micros touch screen and phone.
