Sunset Wait Staff
Part-Time
Summary of Position:
The duties of the Wait staff of Cher-Ae Heights Casino Sunset Restaurant contain the overall guest satisfaction and service during the dining and food presentation service of the Sunset Restaurant. The wait staff position shares a variety of duties including hosting the guest, serving the guest, and bussing and cleaning the tables and floors of the Sunset Restaurant. The overall goal is to provide the guest with the ultimate dining experience in Humboldt County.
Responsibilities:
· Strong communication and phone skills are required, along with the ability to organize.
· Create and maintain a waiting list for seating when performing host duties.
· The wait staff will clean and check all menus.
· Greet and seat all guests.
· Notify the Manager and/or Chef of special occasions or guest needs.
· Clean the glass and counters at the end of each shift.
· Must be able to stand for an extended period of time up to 10 hours a day.
· Serve Guests of restaurant and share promotional information about Cher-Ae Heights Casino when applicable.
· Present and describe menu items and restaurant specials having full knowledge of the menu and ingredients.
· Take orders for beverage and food, present orders to the kitchen or bar, and delivers food and beverages to table in a courteous, professional manner.
· Maintains assigned station ensuring service is prompt, courteous, and professional.
· Computes bill for payment from table to cashier (wait staff will be the cashier for their service area).
· Maintains a “professional” appearance adhering to all restaurant dress and grooming codes.
· Responsible for setting and clearing all tables in dining room and assisting other wait staff members as needed.
· Wait Staff will be responsible for the set up and breakdown of all banquet events hosted by Cher-Ae Heights Casino
· Upon clearing tables, wait staff will separate the dishes into the dishwashing station; deposit all dirty linens in the bin for cleaning.
· Empty and replace the linen bin when necessary. (if applicable)
· Refill condiment bins, fill all water glasses at guest’s tables, and assist in making coffee.
· Maintain and be presentable at all times. Hair must be tied back or pulled off the shoulders.
· Maintain a stock inventory.
· The wait staff will assist whenever necessary in inventory procedures and cleaning of the restaurant.
· And other duties as applicable to the performance and service of the Cher-Ae Heights Casino/Sunset Restaurant
Qualifications:
• Prior wait staff experience helpful, but will train.
• Skilled in guest relations and conflict resolution.
• Must qualify for Tribal Gaming License.
• Ability to follow directions, written and oral.
• Indian preference.
• Must be able to lift fifty pounds.
• Must be willing and able to work various shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Must be 21 years of age or older in order to serve or bus alcoholic beverages.
If under the age of 21 Wait staff employees may do the position responsibilities listed above except those involving the purchase, service or bussing of alcoholic beverages
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
• Working environment consists of various levels of smoke, noise, light, heat, and cold.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, reach, and bend.
• Must be able to stand, walk for periods of ten (10) or more hours.
• Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
• Must be able to operate in physically and mentally stressful conditions.
• Must have the manual dexterity to use a computer keyboard, micros touch screen and phone.
• Must be capable of working with the front of the house and back of the house in a professional courteous manner.
• Must have a willingness to ask for help when needed and cooperate with the Sunset FOH staff members.
